The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. These are weekly prompts to give bloggers a chance to connect with one another. Weeks run Friday- Thursday.
When reading a mass paperback book, many people fold the cover back, as if they were reading a magazine. Doing this will eventually create creases in the spine. How do you feel about this common bookish habit? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)
Eeek! No, I don’t do this. I try to be as careful as I can to prevent breaking the spines of paperback books. Heaven help that I lend a paperback and someone does this to my book. Hell hath no fury.
Now, I’ll buy used books with cracked spines. I’m not picky about looks always being perfect. But it’s also me giving a book a loving home. I treat the broken books with just as much gentle care as the new ones, so no further damage will occur.
